Vimanmek Mansion

Mansión Vimanmek
Vimanmek Mansion (16 Rajvithi Road, Dusit, Bangkok 10300) – originally known as the world’s largest teakwood building, this mansion was originally a royal residence during the early part of the 20th century. It eventually fell into disuse until the 1980s when the Queen of Thailand converted it into a museum displaying historic items & collectibles that go back to the reign of King Rama V. Along with the Vimanmek Mansion, there are over a dozen restored structures of the old Dusit Palace — displaying everything from ancient artifacts of Thailand’s pre-history to contemporary photographs donated by His Majesty the King. It has now become a large complex of museums where the buildings themselves form part of the “collection” on display.
Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (Tuesday – Saturday only). Admission: 100 Baht per person. Dress code: no shorts or sleeveless shirts, and skirts must be at least knee-high for admission onto the grounds.
